Project Description

KIT is providing engineering services for the rehabilitation of the I-10 No. 1 Lift Station and partial service area diversion to the I-10 No. 2 Lift Station. The condition assessment of the I-10 No. 1 Lift Station and analysis of the 4,000 acre service area conducted by KIT determined the 15.9 million gallon per day (mgd) ultimate capacity of the lift station was far beyond the limits of the existing 4.0 mgd lift station. A partial service area diversion reduced the ultimate capacity of the I-10 No. 1 Lift Station to 10.7 mgd and delayed the expansion of the lift station and West District Wastewater Treatment Plant, which operates near permitted capacity. The evaluation conducted by KIT allowed the Client to program the service area improvements in their Capital Improvement Plan and delay capital expenditures.
