Project: City of Houston/Houston Airport System (HAS) Project 644 – Runway and Taxiway Design in Support of the Environmental Impact Study at George Bush International Airport

Location: Houston, Texas

As a member of the Atkins/PBS&J team, KIT provides access road design and CADD assistance.  The Phase I scope includes preliminary engineering of up to four alternative layouts of airport facilities in support of the Environmental Impact Study analysis.  The preliminary engineering for the purposes of the Environmental Impact Study is defined as 25 percent design. It is anticipated that Phase I will lead to the Phase II (final design) and Phase III (construction services) of a new runway and taxiway.  Specific tasks associated with preliminary design included development of horizontal alignments, development of vertical alignments, development of pavement limits, development of construction limits, and order of magnitude cost estimate.
