Project Description

Client: HDR/San Jacinto River Authority Surface Water Treatment Plant

Location: Montgomery County, Texas

The project includes a new 30 million gallon per day (MGD) surface water treatment plant, raw water intake and raw water pump station, high service pump station and storage facilities constructed on the banks of Lake Conroe. The intake and high service pump station will be sized for the ultimate capacity of 120 MGD and the initial installed pumping capacity (Phase I) will serve the proposed 30 MGD SWTP.

Low pressure membranes will serve as the primary treatment technology with a granular activated carbon (GAC) tertiary treatment process. This advanced microfiltration process followed by GAS will provide the highest quality drinking water.

KIT conducted the pilot testing of the membrane filtration and GAC systems and design of the site drainage, paving, and site utilities.

3 Key Factors/Benefits to Client:

  • Pilot Testing
  • Membrane Filtration
